What is Incident Detection?

Incident Detection uses telematics devices to monitor driving events in real-time. When a potential incident is detected, the fleet manager will receive immediate alerts, ensuring prompt awareness and faster incident reporting.

How Incident Detection Works

  1. Telematics Integration: Flock uses telematics devices (supported devices are Matrix Nano and Geotab) to detect incident events using the accelerometer and GPS. 
  2. Processing: Incident data is analysed to provide a severity level and a confidence score indicating the likelihood that the incident occurred.
  3. Immediate Response: Notifications are sent to fleet managers via email and SMS, enabling quick reporting of the incident.
  4. Reporting: Incidents can be reported digitally straight after the notification.

Ensuring Correct Contact Details

Having accurate contact details is essential for timely notifications. Each policy should include at least one claims contact for both SMS and email. If contact information changes, it should be updated promptly to avoid service disruptions.
